The Prince & Me (2004)

Synopsis

Paige Morgan, a focused premed student falls for Eddie, who she doesn’t know is the crown prince of Denmark.

  • Paige Morgan: a premed student and a farm girl who is determined to reach her life goals.
  • Eddie: is the spoiled prince of Denmark. He decides to go to University because of a misrepresentation he sees on the TV and meets Paige who shows him the values of working hard.
  • Rosalind: the Queen of Denmark and Prince Eddie’s mother. She initially disapproves of Paige before realizing that she has brings out a better side of Eddie.

The Princess and the Frog (2009)

Synopsis

A waitress, desperate to fulfill her dreams as a restaurant owner, is set on a journey to turn a frog prince back into a human being, but she has to face the same problem after she kisses him.

  • Doctor Facilier: A voodoo witchdoctor, who curses Naveen at the behest of Lawrence.
  • Lawrence: Prince Naveen’s valet, he covets Naveen’s wealth.

  • Charlotte “Lottie” La Bouff: Tiana’s wealthy childhood friend.
  • Eli “Big Daddy” La Bouff: Lottie’s father.

Pretty Woman (1990)

A man in a legal but hurtful business needs an escort for some social events and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets… only to fall in love.

Characters

  • Edward Lewis: A businessman who is wealthy and successful, but often cold and remote. He alienated from his own emotions and desires and focuses most of his attention on his work. His business reflects his cold detachment, as he buys struggling companies and breaks them up to sell them piece by piece, a kind of hostile takeover.
  • Vivian Ward: an attractive, charming, and young Los Angeles prostitute. Vivian works alongside her roommate and best friend, Kit. Although initially, it was Kit who protected Vivian, Vivian is currently the more responsible and capable of the pair.
  • Bernard Thompson: The manager of the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel and takes great pride in his position. He is extremely protective of the hotel and its reputation, which leads him to help Vivian become less conspicuous as a prostitute.
  • Kit De Luca: Vivian’s best friend and roommate who led Vivian to become a prostitute in the first place. Kit is hardened by and oblivious to the effects of prostitution. Kit spends the girls’ rent money on drugs and is outrageously untidy. In spite of her flaws, Kit is ultimately supportive, warm, and kind.

 

 

 

 

 

Beauty and the Beast (1991)

Characters

  • Belle: She is an intelligent and undeniably beautiful young woman whose traits are looked down upon in her small French village. As a result of her status as an outcast, Belle yearns to break out of the small-minded community to experience a life of adventure.
  • Beast: A prince by birth, he was cursed by a mysterious Enchantress as punishment for his selfish and cruel nature; only by loving another and earning their love in return can the Beast free himself and those affected by the spell before time runs out.
  • Gaston: He was an arrogant hunter who was determined to marry Belle even by force if necessary. This obsession turned him into a ruthless and traitorous villain, especially when he found out that Belle’s love was not for him, but for a Beast.
  • Cogsworth: He is the Beast’s majordomo who, as part of the Enchantress curse, was turned into an enchanted clock.
  • Mrs. Potts: She is the castle’s head housekeeper who was transformed into an enchanted teapot once the Enchantress placed her curse.

 

Titanic (1997)

Synopsis

Aboard the ill-fated RMS Titanic, an aristocratic lady falls for a young, poor artist.

Characters
  • Rose DeWitt Bukater: is the female protagonist of the movie. She is a 17 years old first class passenger on the Titanic. Rose is engaged to Caledon Hockley, Cal, in order to remain in the upper class world, as her family is secretly in debt. She hates the aristocratic world and feels repressed be it.
  • Jack Dawson: third class passenger and skilled artist, he wins the tickets to Titanic last minute during a poker game. He is constantly traveling and doesn’t seem to have a set home or life plan. Jack meets Rose when he saves her from committing suicide.
  • Ruth DeWitt Bukater: Rose’s mother, she actively advocates for the marriage of Cal and Rose. She is portrayed as snobbish and is seen actively looking down on her poorer counterparts.
  • Caledon Hockley: Rose’s fiancee and a very rich but cruel man.
  • Molly Brown: A rich woman on board, who is referred to as “new money” as she came about her money late in life after literally striking gold.

Aladdin (1992)

Synopsis
When street rat Aladdin frees a genie from a lamp, he finds his wishes granted. However, he soon finds that evil has other plans for the lamp—and for Princess Jasmine. But can Aladdin save Princess Jasmine and her love for him after she sees that he isn’t quite what he appears to be?
Characters
  • Aladdin: A street urchin with a heart of gold, he enjoys the freedom in his life but desires a way out of poverty. After rescuing the Princess Jasmine, Aladdin is subsequently imprisoned, and used to retrieve a magic lamp, which he uses to become a prince himself.
  • Princess Jasmine: The rebellious Princess of Agrabah, she flees from the royal palace and her father, the Sultan, due to her obligation to marry a prince. She first meets Aladdin on the streets of Agrabah, and later under his guise as a prince.
  • Genie: A supernatural genie imprisoned in a magic lamp, Genie grants three wishes to those he serves. His greatest desire is freedom from his service.
  • Jafar: The Royal Advisor of Agrabah, and the antagonist of the film. Jafar sends Aladdin to retrieve the magic lamp in the hopes of using its power for his own nefarious purposes, but his plans are derailed when Aladdin uses the lamp himself.
  • The Sultan: Princess Jasmine’s father, the bumbling but kind-hearted ruler of Agrabah.
